A change is coming

Well, we did find a new place to live. It's an apartment. The square footage is a little bigger than what we have now, but the price is just a little bit more. We are still getting a really good deal because we are paying much less than the "market rate" for the apartment. I am pleased with that. We will be in this apartment for the next year. So over this next year we will be concentrating on plans to buy a house. If that be God's will, I know we will succeed. If this moving process has taught me anything, it has taught me that I need to be patient. So patient I will be. I will not bore you with the problems we have had in getting this apartment, but there are many. We need prayer that this year in the apartment will go smoothly, that are safety will never be in jeopardy and that our home, vehicles and belongings will be protected. I also pray that the office/maintenance staff at the complex is supportive and diligent in their services should we need them.

Here's the floor plan of our new apartment.

Daniel's senior pictures

These are some of my favorite pictures from Daniel's Senior pictures.

Bathroom

Our most recent project -

before:

After:

This mirror was an ugly gold, that we painted red, brown, cream and then white and sanded to bring the color out. It turned out great. I just can't hang it yet, because we are moving and I don't want to create more holes in the wall.

Kids

I know Joseph and I aren't ready to have kids in the near future, but I can't help but want one! We've always said if we have a boy we would name him Jonah, and I thought it would be cute to decorate his room with whales. So, I know this may seem a little obssesive, but I was just looking online for whale bedding and found this:

This is so cute! I can't help myself.

Loving the bathroom - who knew?

The paint color we chose for our bathroom, at first I thought was going to be so dark, but when we got the mirror put up, it looks so bright! I am so very excited, I can't even tell you. I LOVE home projects. I can't wait to own our own home one day so that I can make improvements to it and put my own personal touch on it. All in due time, I guess. Pictures of our bathroom will be posted sometime next week. I'm still waiting to finish my other mirror and get it hung.

FINALLY

Well, we finally got our bathroom painted. I'll post pictures later. I'm waiting to get it decorated the way I want.

The landlord didn't have a mirror on the wall when we moved in, so I put a small temporary mirror up until we were ready to re-do the bathroom. Now we bought a big mirror to go over the sink. It's been quite difficult to hang it. Some home projects can really hinder your marriage. Anyway, we decided to call in reinforcements. So my father-in-law is coming over tonight to help Joseph. Thank goodness. I'll just stay down stairs and talk with my mother-in-law and be happy, instead of frustrated and mad!

I bought this ugly beat up mirror at Ross and yesterday my mom-in-law and I painted it several different shades that coordinate with my bathroom colors, then we are going to paint it all white and sand it down so the colors show through. I'm excited to get this hung in the bathroom, so we'll have two mirrors to use, especially on Sunday mornings when we get ready at the same time.

On to another subject. We took Daniel's senior pics on Saturday. It was so much fun! I never knew he was so cooperative when it comes to having his picture taken. He didn't complain once. It was a lot of fun. Sandi (the lady I work with) is an excellent photographer and she took his pictures. She was so excited that he was having fun with it. He is such a HAM! When I get some pictures, I'll post them on here for the few people that read this blog to look at.

That's about it for me. Hopefully, it won't be so long until I write my next blog.
